An artist friend died this week. I heard about it today and I am floored.
This thread is in memory, with love.
Don Giffin, 1947 to 2003

I'm sorry Osso, he will live on through his art and through good friends like you!
Strange, I can't pull it up from google either; I think it is because I declined "cookies".

Osso, so sorry for your loss.
My sympathies to a good friend of the deceased. I lost a artist friend I met on my first trip to Africa two years ago. He was professor of art at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, and at one time a art director for an ad agency. He was one of the kindest person I ever met; he gave us a original painting after our return from Africa, and the art piece now hangs in our entry way with a photo of him next to it. It's a reminder for me every time I pass that painting - I remember one of the good guys I met in my life. c.i.
Thank you, jl. Don and his wife, a long time friend of mine, have been beacons of observation, wit, craft. competence, and flights of eagles...in my life. They have just finished rebuilding the studio...sigh.
your friend sounds like a fine person, ci....
I forgot to mention in my first post that he passed away last September of a rare blood disease. He and his wife were supposed to join us on our trip to South Africa last year, but he was too sick to join us. c.i.
I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your friend osso. (((HUG)))
I'm sorry for the loss of your good friend, osso.
So young!
How very sad.
Who knows what journey his artistic expression might have taken him on, had he lived a longer life?
