@glitterbag,
Odd, as I too rarely have preserves in the house - and for breakfast today, I had buttered sourdough toast with peach apricot preserves. Mmm, good.

@ehBeth,
Mug of ginger oolong brewing on my work desk. So... technically that hasn't been sipped this morning.

Last thing? My chocolate milk/coffee concoction about 2+ hours ago.

@ehBeth,
bethie, You eat many things that sound exotic to me. However, a bagel isn't exotic. I just never heard of a cheese bagel. How does it work? Is cheese baked into the dough? On top of the bagel? It's hard for me to imagine. Please enlighten me.

I believe the cheese is baked into the top of the bagel.

@Roberta,
just like the pic the Tsar posted

cheese on top

it's like crossing a cheese bialy with a bagel Smile (onion bialys are best of course)

Kossars on Grand Street! https://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/03/dining/kossars-returns-with-bagels-and-bialys-on-the-lower-east-side.html

the bagel I had was Montreal-style, not NY-style, so quite a bit denser/chewier than what NYers are used to

@tsarstepan,
That doesn't mean there's no cheese inside as well. Our cheese scones and bagels have both.
