@ossobuco,
My wife and I go to Paris Baguette most mornings for pastry and coffee not far from where we live. I always have the apple pie pastry and coffee. I never get tired of them.
We're going to her sister's place in San Jose for ham and beef lunch.

@ehBeth,
glass of Guinness draft beer, waiting for the Carne Adovado (pork + chiles + spices, basically)/added roasted tomatoes + sauce/wagon wheel pasta/caramelized onion/kale/spicy diced white bok choy soup - to heat up on the stovetop. Oh, I forgot, I calmed it down a bit with some half and half.

Corn chips and Whole Foods jalapeƱo hummus (if you don't include the toothbrush and toothpaste several minutes afterwards).

@ehBeth,
a handfull of sugared spanish peanuts.

I've figured out that this is a cheap way to access candy. Basically you throw a bag of the peanuts in with a lot of sugar and fair amount of water and let it cook, observing from time to time. It will start to get grizzly bubbling after a while, not just a little but a lot, and then I actually watch.

I drain the peanuts, cool them down, put them into containers. Treats at ready, few at a time. These can last quite a while.

The spanish peanuts I buy (cheap is what got my eye) still have their jackets.
That is either no matter, or good nutritionally. Me, I like the mound of sweet peanuts that shows up at the end of the recipe.

Just eaten the leftover chicken curry - part of a Sri Lankan style rice and curry dinner, with a pumpkin and an eggplant curry and a coconut and carrot sambol and my mango chutney.

Quite a good nosh, if I do say so - and enjoyed by all.

@margo,
Armadillo Willy's baby back ribs. My wife and I shared one order, and had one left over to bring home. We go there every 4-5 month.
