@Dutchy,
my own focaccia, this time with garlic, spicy eggplant, roasted green peppers, roasted onions..

I get this all doesn't attract others, though to me for sustenance.

@ehBeth,
Dutchy is drinking his first cuppa of the day, but glitterbag is sipping mediocre merlot about 1:15 AM because I can't fall asleep. Been one of those days.

@Dutchy,
Since I polished off the wine last night, a rum and coke sounds good tonight. It's now past 1AM in Annapolis, I'm not even close to being tired. I may have Dutchy's libation and pour my own rum and coke. I've had trouble getting to sleep all week. Life keeps getting the way.

@glitterbag,
My wife just served me with a delicious bowl of spaghetti bolognaise, about to open a bottle of wine to go with it.

Laughing

Yeah, I forgot there was a shoe brand by that name.

Hush puppies are balls of cornbread with other spices that are fried, and traditionally served with Southern dishes, such as catfish and other fried seafood like shrimp and oysters. I had some left over from some crabcakes I'd picked up to go from a restaurant.

My understanding is they developed when cooks would be preparing food, especially outdoors, and the dogs would all be whining/barking for food. So the cook would toss pieces of fried cornbread to the them, to hush the puppies.
Some are plain, others have all sorts of stuff mixed with them.
I love them with cocktail sauce.
