Five US soldiers killed helicopter shot down by the Taleban

Five US soldiers were killed tonight when their Chinook helicopter was apparently shot down by the Taleban in southern Afghanistan.

Initial reports suggested the helicopter was hit with a rocket-propelled grenade, with the Islamist organisation claiming responsibility for the attack. It was not clear if there were any survivors."
