A Job For Life?

Interesting item in today's N.Y.Times implying that, to reduce the daily death toll of American forces and body bags in Iraq, Bush is planning to recruit mercenaries from the private sector to guard major Iraqi installations.

Anyone here looking for a highly-paid job (for life) as a sitting target? Evil or Very Mad

I think what they are after is the training of Iraqi's to perform the functions. I would think Iraqi's taking over those functions would be a plus for both the Americans and the Iraqi people. IMO It would be a signal to the Iraqi's that they are beginning to get involved in their future. There are also included in the plan the formation and training of an Iraqi army.
We may have won the war but we certainly are not winning the peace. This may be a step in the right direction.
