Nor does my pastor friend scream every time he sees a crucifix.

Point taken, Boss. Very Happy

God prefers worship toward him to be a free will choice and not a coercion by the five senses...

You're right, I am: John Lennon isn't a deity, screaming isn't a sign of religious belief, enjoyment isn't worship! You're right, this is making sense now.

Oh wait, everyone knew this already. We're back where we started, as usual.

Take a look into a holy roller church and THEN tell me screaming is not a sign of "religious" belief...

Shall we get out the dictionary and refresh ourselves on the definition of "religion"?

Ekklesia is the transliterated Greek word behind the English word translated as "church" in the Bible.

Biblically, ekklesia (church) means simply a group of people.

In the book of Acts in the Bible even an angry mob of "unbelievers" is called an ekklesia...

Take a look at a cloister and THEN tell me that screaming is a sign of religious belief. While you've got the dictionary out, feel free to look up "scream" and verify whether religious belief is a sufficient and necessary condition of screaming.

Not all worship is an outward expression.

Agreed. I would add that not all outward expression is worship either.

Only when the vertical expression is met will the horizontal expression have the right perspective.

Vertical = basis

Horizontal = base.

The rub is when the base becomes the basis...

It didn't, and continues to not make sense. If you don't have an answer, don't try and convince me that I'm missing anything.

It just goes to show that people cannot hide behind science to justify atheism.

Is that better?

One of the greatest Christian gospels was written by a physician...

If that's your point. I'm sadly let down. I was hoping for more. Let's see...

Quote:

1) Atheism doesn't need to be justified. Belief in all things mystic does require justification.
2) To counter: Christianity can not hide behind science, because Science it the light that finds christianity trying to hide behind human fear and old world custom.

Quote:

Which is great because a physician would certainly understand that women and men have the same number of ribs. However, they might not be the best source for the answer of whether the world is round or flat. Further, I'm sure that the physicians of the time practiced some mystic methods along with methods that were more based on actual medical knowledge.

BTW, what makes it "one of the greatest Christian gospels?" What qualifies that? Unless it's about an entire other subject than the rest of the bible, it fall under the same ole fairy tales to me.

Atheism can't be justifies because it assumes the universe just popped out of a balloon...

Old world customs? Is the NT God of liberty and love an "old world custom"?

The gospel of Luke is one of the greatest Christian gospels because it emphasizes ONE of the four aspects/branches of the lord Jesus Christ as merely a man NOT God... Something that Christianity has evidently nearly lost sight of...

Something you would know if you had read and studied it...

The reason why Genesis say God took a rib of man is because Genesis is saying Eve "evolved" BESIDE man...

If you had studied Genesis you would know a figure of speech when one is used.

The physical earth is round but with the spiritual earth, heaven is always above and hell is below...

You cannot apply atheism and science to a spiritual document.

Faith bridges the gap to God where science leaves off.

For science cannot measure God only the spirit can know the dimensions of God's love.

Atheists have no such beliefs about balloons.

Not interested. You can let your old testiment and new testiment argue it out.

If you'd study something other than the bible then you'd understand that all the gospels are equal in value, which in contemporary times is pretty low.
