The war mongers keep singing the refrain that if we pull our troops out of Iraq all hell will break loose. Would it be worse than the civil war now going on? From my prospective it would be far better since American troops would not be the irritant and target of both waring sides.
In truth the problems in Iraq can only be solved by the Iraqi's themselves and therefore we should draw down and let them. If they want to do so by killing each other that too is their choice.
How many more American deaths and seriously wounded will it take before that man in the white house admits to the folly and futility of our action in Iraq and pulls our troops out?
10 U.S. troop deaths in Iraq so far in May
BAGHDAD (CNN) -- Ten U.S. troops have died so far in Iraq in the first five days of May, according to Pentagon statistics counted by CNN.
Nine of the soldiers were killed in combat and one died in a non-combat related incident. All but three were killed in the Baghdad area. One was killed in Musayyib in Babil province, south of Baghdad, and two were killed in Anbar province west of Baghdad.
There are identities for seven of them, with the military not releasing the identities of the three others until next of kin are notified.
One of those killed was a female. Pfc. Katie M. Soenksen, 19, of Davenport, Iowa died from wounds after a bomb exploded under her vehicle in western Baghdad on Wednesday. She was from the 410th Military Police Company, 720th Military Police Battalion, 89th Military Police Brigade, Fort Hood, Texas. (Posted 3:10 p.m.)
