Mile High Gas Prices

I know I shouldn't be complaining and that I should either cut back on driving or get a more gas friendly car but **** people, gas here is at $3.19....at the cheap places!

It was at $2.89 just mere days ago and now it's $3.19.

If it was ALWAYS $3.19, maybe I wouldn't be as crappy about it.

I hate my car.

What's crazy is that it's still only a dime difference between the 89 octane and the Super. I filled up on premium last week just to see if I would notice a difference ... NOPE.

Does anyone else think that its the same gas used for all three options?

Here is Canada, with respect to Chevron gasoline, there is a distinct difference in the anti-knock properties of the various grades. In general you should use the lowest octane that results in no pre-ignition/pinging.

My 2002 Mazda Miata for example gets better mileage/performance with high octane gasoline because the knock sensor/ECU will retard the ignition timing on low octane fuel in an effort to reduce pre-ignition/pinging (not always wholly successfully I might add).

The 2002 Mazda Miata specs premium and for good reason due to (in part) its higher compression ration as compared to some other auto engines, the advantages are better mileage/performance and of course no pre-ignition/pinging.

I am assuming you mean 3.19$ a gallon. Well, where I live, Norway, its about 7$ a gallon for gasoline.

But I guess it is hard to compare, the wages over here are generally higher I think...

I want gas to go to 7.00 a gallon here... then I will be forced to raise my prices... but because of the cost of gas, no one will be coming to the clubs
so they will have to cancel me....then I can lose everything and go on welfare and then the conservatives here on A2K can call me a liberal scumbag drain on the economy and cluck cluck about me.... they will be happy.... and that's what matters to me, the happiness of my fellow A2Kers....

This week in Vancouver gas reached $1.25/litre = $6 Cdn a gallon. That's about $5.40 US a gallon.

Criminal.

Just be glad that most of us don't live in the UK where gas is taxed extremely high just so the Royal Family can run around the world partying!
