if i want to lose weight, how many calories should i take in? on a daily basis
Age, gender, current weight and activity level would be helpful pieces of information, thanks.
im a female
i currently weigh 169 pounds
im 16
and im moderately active usually.
On an average it takes 15 calories a pound to maintain body weight.
In your case this would be 2,535 calories a day.
By cutting back on that amount, you should lose weight.
How much?
Every pound of fat contains 3,500 calories.
If you cut back to 2,000 a day, you'd burn about 500 calories a day. You'd lose a pound a week.
Eat less, move more. There are no short cuts.
@fresh88,
I think if you need to lose weight then you have to avoid the calories for few days till you bring weight to the normal level ,once you got it then you can have it but up to certain limit.
@fresh88,
You can try
2 slices of toast, buttered
1 large bowl of cereal with chopped fruit
1 chicken fillet or 1 tin of tuna with mayo
1 banana + 1 large apple
1 portion of pasta or rice
You really have no idea what you're talking about, do you? 300 calories is about 1/3 of the calories needed for a healthy one-year-old.
