Is there an organization that evaluates products to ascertain if they are safe to be used in conjunction with a microwave oven and allows a designated symbol to be placed on those products that pass its test indicating to the consumer that the product can be used safely in a microwave oven?

In the US it's the FDA.

In the UK it's called Brainiac.
A lot of stuff is "tested" here. :wink:
