When a member is reminiscing about days gone by, they often will dig up their first post, or that of someone else....

Even though I understand that the number represents the total post count, as apposed to a sequential count, {post 1 remains 1, 2 remains 2..etc..} I always do a double take.
Angelique, do you get that the counter just indicates how many posts you have?
If you go back to your first post here, it doesn't say "1" in that space. It says (right now), 3208.
That number is the same on EVERY post you've made here. The number updates, but every post you've made contains that same number.
Think of it in terms of your avatar. Say that a year ago your avatar was a kitten. You made a bunch of posts, a year ago, with a kitten next to those posts.
Then you change your avatar to a woman's back. Those posts you made a year ago now have an avatar of a woman's back next to them. Not a kitten anymore.
Whatever you see in that space -- avatar, post count, location, etc. -- appears next to EVERY post you make on A2K.

At each point you make a post, note what your post count is at that moment.
I don't know if it will help or not but worth a try.
