Here's the background for anyone who wants to know:

Okay, so today was my last day and they threw me a very nice party and gave me $35 gift certificate to Trader Joe's. I was surprised.

H**lish boss was there to "save face." When I was leaving I crossed paths with him and blew him a kiss goodbye.

Two weeks notice...hah, I call that "this-morning's-notice"

Good for you...so what's your next job?

Praise be to whomever!

Thanks all.

Stuh, I've gotten a job in Washington DC, very close to K Street (scary), working in a humanities library. Previous h*** job I have finished today is a library as well, but-- a law library. A little too buttoned up for me. (I hope Jespah won't take offense).

Glad to hear it, Gala. Doesn't if feel good? I never really had a complete a-hole for a boss like that, but I imagine that makes leaving doubly sweet.

Congratulations!

By the way, do you realize the title of this thread could easily be taken to mean something altogether different than what you meant?

I think so, Kickycan, but what's a Help job got to do with anything?

I'm sorry, I don't believe I've ever heard the term "Help job." What exactly would that entail?

I thought you might be offended by saying lawyers are buttoned up. Then again, the buttoned up ones are not on Able2Know.

I'm glad it's done with. In a way, d***-head boss will make subsequent boss' quirks seems minor-- charming even.

If I write what I think you are talking about on this computer re your flexible interpretation the filter will knock me off.
