I've grown to like 'em. They add a lot of fun to the forum.
Anyone else want to keep them on as a permanent feature?
If nothing else, keep them in the titles and have them as icons you can click on.

The faster these icons are dumped the better. Every use of the terms Republican or Democrat relates to modern American political parties. This is a bad precedent, and we might soon be swamped with "cute" icons at the expense of the written word. Already we have another icon showing up in the Religion and Spirituality Forum that only confuses the reader, while adding nothing to the communication. Lets get this trend stopped quickly!

They are cute as can be, but I have a hard enough time concentrating without seeing elephants and donkeys jumping up and down. Can't really blame it on getting older, always been easily distracted.

Dump 'em . . . i frequently use the terms "r epublican" and "d emocratic" in contexts which have no reference to American politics. I was posting today about the Roman empire, and "r epublican" was converted to the icon.

people can't even agree on the ICONS for the parties.... no wonder we can't get anything done in this country...
Glad to see you all noticed the 4/1 hijinks while they lasted. All are packed up until some other mysterious occasion arises or the hamsters get frisky.
PS I would like to acknowledge the hamsters, who truly went out of their way this time.
Loved it. Anyway we can get those jpgs as smileys, so we can sprinkle them around our posts at will?
