Did MSNBC do the right thing, by removing his program from the airways?
He should have never been on the air in the first place. MSNBC got burned in their attempt to compete with the right wing idiocy of Fox News.
WRKO radio, Boston took him off the air last night, but plan on airing him either today or Thursday.
Vilest of the vile.
He can have his soapbox. No microphone, no camera.
Have you ever heard Howie Carr?

Didn't he used to play college hockey?
Michael Savage is such a creep; I believe his show was the equivalent to crying fire in a crowded, enclosed room. It crossed the old free-speech line from 'protected' to NOT.
Dys, IMO, you are quite right in MSNBC's attempt to out-fox FOX and they should be ashamed.
Why did they remove Savage? Was it ratings or for something more juicy?
While responding to a gay call-in viewer, he said something like "You're a sodomite", and other, even more incendiary things...
He also said he hoped that the caller got AIDS.
Savage is now complaining that he was mistreated by the network. He's not the first hard-right commentator to go too far and get canned. Perhaps it will be Ann Coulter next...
Oh, D'art, one can only hope ...
Poor Mikey!
Here's a link to an article in which Savage is in a self-pitying mode. It's almost poignant.

Yeah, D'art, I read it and "almost" is the operative word here, I'm afraid.
BTW, I had sent 2 letters to MSNBC demanding his firing through a couple of the progressive groups of which I am a member. I don't usually want to have any part in someone's dismissal but, in this case, I felt it was warranted ... especially since I rationalized he would still have an income through his radio show!

Oh, i see, that explains it, he was caught with his mouth open, unawares.
We'll see what happens tonight!
I don't support the guy - but can someone come-up with the rules of engagement?
You can burn a candle on both ends.
Where does accountability start and stop?
Where and how do you drawl a line on freedom of speech?
More than Michael Savage those are the real questions for me, and
yes it's unfortunate when people (real people get hurt) are hurt.
