The St. Patrick's Day parade's set for today. I've gone the last couple of years, but I'm finding it a bit chilly/damp today. Already had my sparkly green headband with green shamrock bobbers ready to go. I think I'll relax til it's time to go to dance class instead.

That should get about as much coverage by the media as the Washinigton anti-war demostrations did.

St. Paddy's day went well, weather lovely, didn't attend the festivities this year opting for a quieter day of gardening. Today the weathers cooler, forecast for rain tomorrow, but still temps are mild.

I looked and looked for a long time and didn't see a thing. The time didn't advance either. What did that mean? I'm not Irish?

Imagine that. The three percent of those supporting the war got most of the coverage. Not a surprise the media doesn't print photos of what our troops look like after being maimed and blown to bits, or terrified Iraqi children - and worse. Way to damned unpatriotic.

Tomorrow, at 2 pm (for some reason), spring will have sprung. I will be up in the Durham area looking at houses, and hope to be able to purchase one. New beginnings all around?

Dan, I swear i saw a few Leprechans strolling through the Rosemary hedges today! Spring is their favorite season of the year, and if ya sit real still, they'll walk right up to ya and say 'howdy'. Very Happy

Almafi Coast-- wonderful. Looking out of my window into rain and snow then this destination is even more tempting.

I am reading about Persepolis- the ancient city near Shiraz and learning about Norouz, the festivity on 3/21.
The little girl from Iran in my class gave a "speech" today how this is celebrated.
First spring cleaning, then cooking 7 dishes, all of them have names starting with S- this is because of the Iran name for New Year starts with S.
Then they all will get new dresses. Sweets and presents, too.
And they have to be kind and good to family members and neighbors. Their behavior on that special day will influence the coming New Year.
She is already very excited. Very Happy

All clicked

My closest friend in USA lives in Folsom, CA - his ancestory is actually located in Southern Italy - Filadelfia, Italy. Very Happy

So now it is officially spring.
Doesn't feel like spring though, it is rather cold. Some snow flurries this morning covered the violets and the primroses.

stradee, right now it seems that even the south of Italy is rather cold. Vesuv got a white snow cap.

Next week we will start growing Easter Wheat- something green for the Easter table.

ul, heavy rainfall last evening, but today the suns shining and temps are mild. There is still quite a bit of snow at higher elevations, the Sierras surrounding Tahoe look so pretty contrasted with the greenery of the canyons. Soon the snow will begin melting, greeting the new rafting season.

I don't care if vesuvius stays snowy forever, i'm sailing the Almafi Coast wearing arctic gear if necessary. Determined Very Happy

Walter, very lovely photo.
