theme to the Gary Shandling Show:

This is the theme to Garry's Show,
The theme to Garry's show.
Garry called me up and asked if I would right his theme song.
I'm almost halfway finished,
How do you like it so far,
How do you like the theme to Garry's Show.

This is the theme to Garry's Show,
The opening theme to Garry's show.
This is the music that you hear as you watch the credits.
We're almost to the part of where I start to whistle.
Then we'll watch "It's Garry Shandling's Show".

This was the theme to Garry Shandling's show.

Come on, people. Really? Sheesh. All right, then, sing along...

We're moving on up
To the east side
To a deluxe apartment in the sky-y-y...

(I'd also toss out The Odd Couple, Gilligan's Island, and Malcolm In the Middle...)

dammit!

Am I the only one who watched Gigantor back in the 60's?

It was the original anime for christ's sake!

Ha! I loved that show, loved the song too. Now I'll be singing that all evening...

I still sing that all the time...I think that was a really good song on its own merit as well as being the theme to a hilarious show...

as long as we're using the way-back machine, how about the theme for Mr. Ed.
A horse is a horse of course, of course

Oh, I watched Gigantor, too. You recall the Speed Racer theme? It was a lot of horns.

Here he comes
Here comes Speed Racer
He's a demon on wheels
He's a demon and he's gonna be chasin' after someone
He's gainin' on you
So you better look alive
He's busy revvin' up the powerful Mach 5
And when the odds are against him
And there's dangerous work to do
You bet your life Speed Racer will see it through
Go Speed Racer
Go Speed Racer
Go Speed Racer, GO!
He's off and flyin'
As he guns the car around the track
He's jammin' down the pedal
Like he's never comin' back
Adventure's waitin' just ahead
Go Speed Racer
Go Speed Racer
Go Speed Racer, GO!

Listen - Speed Racer Theme - GO Speed!

THE MACH 5! Yeah Baby!

Roberta, "Inspector Gadget" was my generation (cartoon show, early 80's or so), "Spongebob" is sozlet's generation (and I'm pulled in as mom, though I'm now a fan myself), but "One Foot in the Grave" isn't generational, I don't think. It's a British series shown on PBS here occasionally, though I became a fan when I lived in London. Ran, hmm, late-80's to mid-90's? Not sure. OK, seems to be 1990-2000, with some breaks. More here:

I love Inspector Gadget, and had that as my ring tone for a while.

Other goodies-

I dream of Jeanie

Sex and the City

Thanks, Soz.

I've been thinking about this. I watch plenty of shows now. The only theme song I remember beyond the moment of hearing it is the one from the Sopranos. All the others go in one ear and out the other. This made me think about how I remember phone numbers of people I called years ago, but I don't remember those of people I call now. Must be some kinda synapse thing.

Reading all these made the "Leave It To Beaver" theme pop into my head. Both versions.

Well, now I've gone and done it. I can't get the theme song to the Mary Tyler Moore Show out of my head. Not a bad theme, but not something you want rolling around in your brain.

I'm 0 for 2, Jane. But the second one sounds familiar.

I take it I was the only one watching the Six Million Dollar Man and Charlies Angels?

Oh, and what about Family Ties? I liked that one.

Until recently, a local radio station played The Beverly Hillbillies theme quite a lot. It was the best thing about the show.

Yes, Greyfan, you're right. Smile

I never watched 'My Three Sons" either, but I once heard the
theme song and liked it - it sounds so upbeat.

And "I Dream of Jeannie" is just a classic.
