I'll give you that some older cars can be stolen much easier than newer ones. They were made differently and function differently.

However, I'd guess (car people stop me if I'm wrong) 99% of the time now, on a newer vehicle, you can't move a car out of park without turning the ignition at least to the point where the radio comes on, even if the car isn't started.

So the club is worthless. There has to be some sort of electronic locking device that keeps thieves form moving your car. Like on mine. Which someone I am sure, knows how to get around but it's a much better deterant than the club.

any way..

old school standards only need a straight ahead path to be stolen.
There for, NO you dont need a key

But how do you turn the wheel if it's locked? You can push it sure but how can you take it where you want it? What's the point of stealing a car you can't use?

Easy to steal a car I would tell you how but that would be irresponsible to do on a forum. I don't want to give it away. Yes, someone can search the net.
They can get it from someone else, not me.

So... TTH, what was the point of your argument? If anyone can steal a car, why would even bother to defend the stupidest car security product out there?

Are you kidding? How many thieves strip a car in plain view?

Not anyone can do it. You have to know how to do it. You do your best to secure your car but, if someone wants it, they will simply take it.
False sense of security-security devices- only deters, not stops.

That is why there is car insurance.

IN PLAIN VIEW not daylight.

Read my post.

I think I'd notice someone stripping a car down to the chassis in the parking lot and throwing the parts into a truck.

If they want something small, or something specific, sure, they could get that out of the parking lot in broad daylight. But to strip a car in broad daylight? I don't think so.

In any case, the club is the dumbest and most ineffective security device out there.

You're saying that thieves strip a car, in plain view and no one notices? No one notices a seat being removed from a vehicle? Is everyone blind or just dumb in your scenario?

I guess we are talking about completely different areas.

You're talking about "bad" neighborhoods where your car gets stolen once a week.

I'm talking about general America. The parking lot of the Marriott hotel.
Or at McDonalds. I live in a decent neighborhood so it doesn't happen like that here. Certain areas of Detroit, yeah I am sure it happens. But then again, people there expect it to happen so why not.

It is not that they don't notice. They do not want to get involved.
They do nothing. It is called reality. YES reality. Happens all the time.
Love to stay and chat but I hear someone calling me.

People get shot in plain sight and in daylight with witnesses and no one does anything, nothing, zero, zilch. Not even call 911. Happens quite often.

They really do. Research it if you don't believe me.

Happens in goods one too, don't be naive. If it hasn't happened where you are feel lucky. Remember it can only be a matter of time.
I have to go. Hope no one steals your car btw.

Again, refer to post above....I am referring to general America. Not gang neighborhoods or neighborhoods where crime is ridiculously hight and people expect to be shot or mugged before they turn 25.

In 95% of Detroit, people wouldn't just strip a car in broad daylight, in the casino parking lot. And Detroit is not known for being a "safe" city.

Well, I've been on this good earth for some time now and it hasn't happened in one neighborhood I've lived in. And I've lived in several different "types" of neighborhoods.

And for the record...for beig here for "research only" you sure have a lot of opinions that no one seems to want to hear. Rolling Eyes
