Stop illegal immigration now, and deport all of those here illegally.

Mexican anger over US 'trespass'

Many Mexicans see the border barrier as offensive
Mexico's Congress has condemned what it says is a border violation by US workers building a controversial barrier between the two countries.
Legislators say workers and equipment building a section of the barrier have gone 10 metres (yards) into Mexico.

The alleged border violation comes ahead of a high-level meeting in the Canadian capital Ottawa.

US, Mexican and Canadian foreign ministers are to discuss border security and trade issues.

Mexican legislators said they had photographs and video, taken on Monday, of the workers and heavy-duty construction equipment that showed them about 10 metres inside Mexico near the border city of Agua Prieta and the town of Douglas, Arizona.

The Mexican Foreign Minister Patricia Espinosa said she had complained to the US authorities and that the men and equipment had been withdrawn.

Continental trade concerns

In a statement, the US Ambassador to Mexico Tony Garza said: "The US is sensitive to Mexican concerns... [and] has the deepest respect for the integrity of the sovereignty of Mexican soil".

He said US Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff had not been in the area of the alleged incursion and recent photographs of him welding a section of the fence had been taken in a different part of Arizona on the US side of the border.

The US says it is building 700 miles (1,125km) of fencing along its border with Mexico to stop illegal immigration.

Many Mexicans see the fence as offensive and say it will be ineffective and potentially cause more deaths in border crossings.

An estimated 1.2 million illegal immigrants were arrested in 2005 trying to cross into the US via the border states of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California.

About 11 million Mexicans are thought to live in the US, more than six million of them illegally.

NOTE: I think most of those illegals are quite a bit further into the U.S. than 10m.... what a bunch of assclowns.

Many americans see the illegal entry into the US as offensive. As to the the potential of death resulting from the illegal crossing that is the result of the individuals illegal act and the choice they make.

Many Americans see the fence as offensive. Many Americans also find the apathy toward the deaths of migrants as offensive.

True Americans such as you are who are delusional enough to believe that only laws with which they are in agreement with should be enforced. As to being apathetic towards the deaths of migrants, The choice to put themselves in danger is theirs.

All I am pointing out is that we live in a Democracy, and that the immigration issue will be resolved Democratically.

If most Americans felt as you do, then the immigration issue would have been resolved to your liking last year.

The reason that your side failed is that many American citizens strongly disagree with you-- and most Americans support a moderate position.

When immigration reform, that includes compassion for people here now, comes up in Congress in the next couple of weeks, it will be introduced by American Congressmen, who were each elected by American citizens.

It will also be cheered by millions of American Citizens.

It will succeed or fail based on American citizens-- and there are millions of us who value compassion.

Who is apathetic about it?

If people undertake a dangerous and illegal mission, they sometimes die. I'm not apathetic in the slightest about this fact; it's a reality of life.

The fact that most of America is moderate and apathetic about a lot of things concerns me greatly. The fact that you wish to take advantage of them to futher your anti-American agenda resembles an act of treason.

CJ,

You seem to think that anyone who disagrees with you is Anti-American.

I am an American, and my agenda is shared by millions of Americans. Therefore I have an American agenda.

I do have an anti-CJ agenda.

No, you are anti-american. That much has been clear for a long, long time and has absolutely nothing to do with me.

From you, that is a compliment.

But, as long as "anti-americans" continue to win elections, I guess we will be all right.

BTW I am curious. How many of the presidential candidates are anti-American. Is McCain (for example) an anti-american?
