DARPA spokeswoman Jan Walker dismisses those concerns. She said the Combat Zones That See (CTS) technology isn't intended for homeland security or law enforcement and couldn't be used for "other applications without extensive modifications."

I also noticed in the news this morning that they're owning up to the new black boxes in our cars. No, not just to judge when to open airbags and other useful stuff. These are also tracking devices.
Out here in a very rural area, a stoplight was recently put in where a county road t's into a state road. Cameras also aimed in three directions.
Thanks for the info. I had already seen other articles for same info. I'm not usually an alarmist but Patriot Act and other movements by the government concern me.
