Joan--

Thank you so much for taking time out from your fresh grief to let Kev's friends here on A2K know about his death.

Kev will be sorely missed.

My thoughts are with you. Hold your dominion.

Joan, my deepest sympathy to you and yours.

We will miss Kev.

Perhaps, at some point, you may feel able to come back and tell us a little more about him?

This is one of those posts we get from time to time...and it means a friend is gone from our lives. Please allow me to extend my condolences.

Yorkshire pudding is one of my favorites...a delight I had for the very first time in Yorkshire!

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Kev had a wonderful sense of humor and never hesitated to share it with us. He sometimes referenced his family in his posts, and I thought you might like to see a few of the things he had to say. The first one is an example of his humor, the others speak for themselves about his love of his family.

Tongue? You mean like a real tongue from something that used to be alive?

Yes max, from a creature that used to be alive. My wife always used to say, I could never eat anything that came out of an animals mouth (tongue) but she never had a problem eating eggs.

I think I'm going to live out my life on distilled water.

Phoenix,

In your above postings you have said several times that you consider responsible parenting the key to kids being brought up right, and having brought up two that way, my wife and I would agree with you, my son is UK computer manager for the biggest law firm in Britain, and my daughter is a lab technician.

However, the reality is that half the kids in America are in a single parent family, or have siblings by different fathers, none of whom are in the picture. So when mom goes out to do her two jobs per day to make ends meet, what stops little Jimmy from watching whatever he wants? whether at his house or round at bart simpsons house.

You also touched on the first amendment rights issue, it was never intended that freedom of speech should include the right by the tiny minority to irresponsibly print any trash no matter how harmful it may be to millions of others just so that a few could become billionaires.

When you asked "would you die for your country" you were kidding right!

at least 10 years before his time, Kev was a strong man in every respect who was never popular because he had his opinions and wasn't afraid to voice them.

In the true American saying "I bought the farm" he did, after working his balls off for 40 years and buying our dream house in the lake district he "bought the farm"

It was a priveledge to be his wife of 40 years. Joan

I was very sorry to read these words. :-( You may rest assured, Joan, that Kev had many friends at a2k. I recently returned to visiting a2k and hadn't yet run into him, but I remember him well from earlier times as an interesting and interested writer. I can certainly imagine him working hard and lovingly for his family. My very sincere condolences to you and yours. He will be missed here.
