Did Ratzenhofer, the Poet, go out of business in 2003?

I had forgotten about this thread. It was one of the great ones. Just read through it again and laughed my ass off.

Gus - I know greatness when I see it. You're a shoo-in for the Nobel Prize for literature.

Have you ever considered writing a poem about pigs? An Ode to Oink perhaps?

Once I saw a duck walk, upon a quay in France.
The duck, she walked, with young ducks in her trance.

They walked and waddled and plucked and prattled
with little notice of tourists flocking all over the Seine

again yet again with their flotsam and jetsam like so much
duckshit upon the narrows now

the duck she nodded and dove in to the shallows with
ducklings revving to get away, get away, looking

for space.

The great Ratzenhofer has directed me here as I pleaded with him to post his famous Duck poem some months back. I'm very glad of it, my life will never be the same. May he turn out more such brilliant poetry here.

I routinely return to THE DUCK for a spiritual "meal". Weve seen Ratzenhofer in his full powers and I am thankful that he has delivered the goods , just before he went senile.

I credit Gus with inspiring my own work, Turkey.

Turkey on the straw
fly, turkey, fly!

Turkey takes flight
Oh! What a swell thing!

I took my beloved bird,
And let it take flight.
At the Canyon of the Eagles
One lovely night.

Will my sweet beloved bird
Return once it is free?
Nay, it plummets off the cliff.
Stupid turkey.
