I don't need any insurance for my Point of View, thanks.

My guess is Privately Owned Vehicles.

It's been making the rounds on Rightie blogs lately, this question of mandated gov't insurance, so I'm not surprised to see it posted here.

Oh, maybe you don't drive? Or maybe you are driven? Or maybe you're not living in the US?
Let me re-phrase, If you're a US citizen, should you have taxpayer paid insurance on your POV? I realize that we indirectly pay for uninsured drivers now, but should it be enacted into law that all of us have that benifit?

I was just giving you a hard time for not explaining what POV stood for, is all.

What's the difference between single-payer car insurance, and single-payer health insurance? I can't see one.

As for me personally; no, I don't own a car or drive. I ride a bicycle and take the subway when I need to go places, for the most part.

My Grandma always used to say, Feets were good enough for Jesus, they're good enough for us, kids.

With a teenaged driver in the house, frankly I WISH somebody-- anybody-- else would pay my insurance!

I think it's a good question. Why not have insurance lumped in with health insurance? I mean, Uncle Teddy wants you to pay for my health insurance, may as well pay for my car insurance too, hey, throw my property ineurance in there while you're at it. Dang, pretty soon we'll be getting everything for free....except for the taxpayers.

Are vehicles privately owned if you're still paying off the bank loan? Would the government be insuring our vehicle or the bank's assets?

What difference does that make, whether there's a model for it already?

No. That's crazy talk.

Not everyone owns a car. And why should I pay for the driver that has had 4 car crashes, a DUI, 14 moving violations and 48 unpaid parking tickets when iIve had none of those?

To me, basic health insurance is different than car insurance. We need our health to live. We don't need our cars.

BECAUSE then we could look and see whether it actually does work in real life, rather than just hypothesizing about it, silly!

I have no idea what it is - your answer wasn't a help at all.

But thanks for to trying.

Nationalized health care isn't working anyplace but that isn't stopping Uncle Teddy.

Nor should I pay for someones addiction or other self induced illnesses.

I guess that depends on your definition of 'working.' My cousin in Alberta broke her arm last year and got it all fixed up under their nationalized health care. I guess if you asked her, she'd tell you it worked for her.

Is something not working, unless it is perfect? Because, let me clue you in, non-nationalized healthcare isn't working either.
