@MontereyJack,

MJ, you had a hanging dash - at the end of your URL code.

I agree fully with you Barry and through you - Roberta. Thank you for your informative contributions. They are, in my belief,, within Roberta's rules of engagement.

JTT is also on my ignore list!

S/he/it was the first person I ever used the 'ignore' function for. Laughing

Nice Mandarins! We have them wild around here, too.

We don't have them around here - wish they would, they are beautiful.....

@BillW,
I'll see if I can dig up the photo I took a couple of years ago. They were in the wild, not a zoo or park.

Bill, I see you found it on youtube--I couldn't (and still can't). So would [youtube] work on non youtube videos if I'd gotten the URL right, or is there some other way to do it?

@Rockhead,
Stop being so stupid, Rocky. Mary the Bod started all this and there have been the usual pilers on.

Not sure if I posted this one. It's from a few years ago:

@FBM,
Barry, You know that I'm a shepherd fan. Another doozy. I'm gonna pretend not to notice the rest of the discussion. I'm old and tired. I like da dawg. The owl is yet another doozy. What kind is it? Great face.

Bill, Thanks for posting the video of the goats for MJ. Love dem kids. And the video made me laugh. Somewhere there's a photo of me and a kid at the Bronx Zoo. The goat liked me. If I can find it, I'll post it.

FBM, IMO, Mandarins are the most beautiful ducks. Thanks for the great pic. The second pic is stunning. Perfect. You have a great eye.

Speaking of goats, here's a family of markhors:

@Roberta,
Thanks, Roberta. Smile

As for that other business, like I said, I use the ignore function. Wink

Not sure how well this qualifies as beautiful in others' eyes: Oriental Beetle - Anomala orientalis

Oh it is beautiful! I feel privileged to see it in such close-up detail - amazing just how intricate the legs and antenna are, and how the different colourways blend into one another.

@vonny,
Glad you like. It's a very different world "down there." I re-evaluate what constitutes beauty at that scale. Maybe not everyone would agree, but...

As E.O.Wilson said, "God must really love beetles, he made so many different kinds of them." (quoted from memory, won't guarantee that's a totally accurate version)

So, I found most of the alpaca photos I posted back in 2010, though I see I took away some on the photobucket site.

A reprise (alpacas can make my day):

It's simple, Roberta. You wish a political free zone on this thread, ask everyone to abide by your request. It's not like there aren't umpteen billion dog pictures around.
