@Roberta,
Looks like a walking mutated orchid!

Great idea for a horror film taking place at Prom Night!
Corsages come alive and start eating the prom date. Saves the prom queen for last.

@Roberta,
Interesting! It looks like a cross between a bunny and an orchid.

Men! Harumph.

How about this scenario? The guys wear these as bouttonnieres. At midnight, the bouttonniere comes alive and bites the guys' heads off.

By the end of the prom, no one is left alive except for Seymour Lipschitz, who was allergic to flowers and refused to wear the boutonniere. Go Seymour.

Some may not consider this little guy a "beautiful animal" but I sure do. This little "mule" is JJ. My paso fino mare gave birth to him Friday morning. He is about an hour old in this picture. My mare was pregnant when I bought her. She was a rescue horse and we were told she was more than likely bred to a Tennessee Walker. Uh, I am now 100% positive it wasn't a Tennessee Walker.

Turn it into a 3D Imax film? Starring say Clive Owens and Scarlett Johansson? I'll preorder the tickets now!

@tsarstepan,
Uh oh. This is going to engender the photobucketing and posting of some of my alpaca photos. The best have my old business partner in them, thus impolite to post, so on that I'll tell the story instead. We considered the alpacas as cheer-us-ups and almost never passed that highway turnoff without a short drive to the alpaca abode for a quick view and smiles.

@ossobuco,
You have alpacas? I've read about them but don't know anyone with one. Obviously, they can be trained (amazing that it surfs!) but I was wondering if they make good pets? I don't want one, I'm just curious.

tsar, The flick is still in preproduction. Don't be in a hurry about the tickets.
That alpaca doesn't look happy to me. But I don't know much about the facial expressions of alpacas.

olga, Thanks for the glorious bird in flight.

@Letty,
Yes, Letty. Sad about the snow leopards. In fact many of the animals posted here are endangered, including the cheetah.

Sighing big time.

Time for the alpaca extravaganza. I dare you not to smile..

There are a batch of photos, probably two or more posts' full, starting out with more of an overview.

A long shot, somewhere in Humboldt County, by the sea, by the sea:

alpaca distribution -

They see us walk up to the fence, come forward to stare at us. This first photo is overexposed, but shows more faces than the more realistic one that comes next.

More realistic light -

alpaca chase (well, I'm not sure about 'chase'. I wish I had photos/videos of the alpacas cavorting around, especially the little ones)
