Our Leo is nearing 9, I believe; seems about right. He officially belongs to them next door. They chucked him out when he was quite young; the daughter developed allergies, I guess. Anyway, he's spent all his days since at our house. Most of the winter daytime hours he's curled up inside on a down jacket next the heat vent, but then goes out at night.
It's right comical to watch him stalking deer (sometimes as many as five) that venture into our backyard around twilight; often they'll walk right up to the windows and look in. But wherever they go on the property, Leo creeps along after them, his belly barely clearing the ground. When the deer eventfully mosey up to the four-foot fence, he watches as they pass over it with as much ease as he'd cross a brick. Once he's thus seen them off, he resumes his beat.
A gray tabby with lima bean colored eyes, Leo looks much like the cat in the "battle-mode" photo.
