@msolga,
tsar, I thought they were given to yodeling in Tyrolean regions. I guess a bellow will have to do. Gawgeous pic. Thanks, kid.

HH, The color in the photo is spectacular--bird and background. The mantis looks prepared to do battle. Dem bugs is tough. Thanks, mucho.

olga, The photo made me smile. It looks like the kudu has been slurping milk. Wonderful shot of this rare animal. Thanks.

@Barry The Mod,
Barry, As my grandmother used to say, "Such a punim (face)!" Thanks for passing along the chin chuck. A chuck once removed is better than none at all.

olga, I've regained consciousness. I'm fine. I'd seen some of those pics before, but all squooshed together like that was more than I could withstand. Thudded. Thanks.

I sometimes get the feeling that wildlife photographers may be just a little nuts. Whaddya think?

@Roberta,
Kodiak bear, which can contend equally with a polar bear as the fiercest land predator. Wink
Kinda looks like my grandpa eying the thanksgiving turkey Laughing

@aspvenom,
av, The Kodiak bear is a subspecies of the grizzly. They are considered by many to be equal in size to the polar bear. I have my doubts. I didn't call anybody fierce. Just big. But I wouldn't want to meet up with either bear. Dese guys is BIG.

@ossobuco,
Who'd you know, osso? The eel or the bear? I'm guessing the former.

@Roberta,
Wild life guy, deep sea diver, John Craig (Danger is My Business).

Stopped at our house from time to time and scared me to death with stories.

@Barry The Mod,
osso, I misunderstood. You were responding to the nutsy wildlife photographer question. Thanks for the link. Fascinating. You were lucky to know such a person.

Barry, Have pity on frail old me. Thudded. The little kitten between the two hugging cats had me unconscious again. Thanks, London.

@Barry The Mod,
my father was his boss at Bikini.. Cool Was head of photo, was in the plane with Craig. They shot into the Baker bomb test, down through the middle of it.

Wonderful photo, Barry.
Just saw this one in the SF Chron -

A lone stag walks through beams of early morning sunshine at Dunham Massey in Altrincham, England. October is the peak of the rutting season when the stags fight for the right to mate with the doe.

@Roberta,
I knew you misunderstood - but who could know what I am thinking at any given time. My father had interesting friends. John Farrow, known now as Mia's father and Maureen O'Sullivan (Jane/Tarzan)'s husband - but very interesting man himself. Well, and others. I was too young to catch all of it.

@ossobuco,
My father didn't know anybody famous. Not even close. That's a stunning picture of the deer. Thanks, kid.
