@hingehead,
It seems so:

Quote:
For more than 70 years since Giordani Soika (1935) described another species, E. simplicilamellatus, from Kapa Kapa and some other localities in Papua New Guinea and also from Cairns, Australia.

@Strauss,
Then I've probably scraped their nests of our walls. Glad I never met one.

New baby gorilla and proud 29 year old momma 'Rebecca' at Frankfurt zoo. Taken 4 days ago.

I took this one at the Seoul Grand Zoo a few months ago. Maybe not beautiful animals in everyone's eyes, but...

@FBM,
Truly beautiful, snood. Thanks big time.

FBM, Another great primate. It looks wonderful to me. Thanks.

King cobras hatching. King cobras are among the few snakes that build a nest and guard it. When the eggs are about to hatch, the mother leaves. Why? Cobras are snake eaters. If she hung around, she would instinctively eat the babies she worked so hard to keep safe. (BTW, cobras are venomous from the moment of birth.)

@FBM,
Love it, keep those photos coming, FBM. What is he or she eating, do you know? Looks like a noodle, but I doubt that.

@ossobuco,
It was just picking its teeth with a straw.

Thanks, guys. I have a couple more around here somewhere. I'd post some spiders, but I'm not sure how many people consider them to be beautiful and I'd hate to spark off somone's phobia...

@roger,
OK, but just remember, you asked for it...heh heh...I'll start with a cute one that I found crawling on my bathroom window one morning. It was about the size of a grain of rice...

@ossobuco,
Thanks, osso. But that's the only non-ultra-creepy spider shot I have, I think. The rest may give you the heebie-jeebies and/or nightmares. Maybe I should hold off on them...Here's a hawk I was lucky enough to snag...

@FBM,
She's a cutie alright, and a darn good photo of someone that small.

Way, way off topic, but here's a link to my contribution on the critters. http://able2know.org/topic/28109-1

@roger,
I feel your pain, roger. I was sweeping a few days ago and accidentally damaged a web that was behind my bookcase. Haven't seen the spider since. Sad

FBM, Glad you've decided to post on this thread. Can't say I like seeing a tiger behind bars, but that's where most of them are. On the other hand, I love seeing the spider. Love dem four eyes. Please don't hesitate to post whatever animal you want to. If people are ooked out, they'll let you know. I think I'm unook-outable.

The hawk is magnificent. How did you manage to get such a shot?

@Roberta,
Adorable meerkats, Roberta! And thanks! I had just picked up my new camera and stepped out of my hotel door to try it out. The hawk was there on a power line. I got lucky as it was flying away.

And OK, if you think it's save to post spiders, I do think they have their own beauty...
