Morning New York....
http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/af138/barrythemod/To%20Forward/mcompany42commando2.jpg

Lance Cpl. Tom Welstand, a native of Bury Saint Edmunds, England, and a military working dog handler with 103 Military Dog Squadron, shares a moment with his search dog, Steegan, during Operation Zamrod Olai, June 25, in northern Nad'Ali District, Helmand province. Welstand and Steegan were operating in support of M Company, 42 Commando, who were sweeping the area to disrupt insurgent activity and movement. M Company expected the area to be heavily mined with improvised explosive devices, making Steegan a crucial part of the team.

This photo makes my heart race...
http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01934/cat-balcony_1934077i.jpg
A cat balances on a balcony railing 17 storeys high above the Chilean capital, Santiago. Ivo Berg was visiting a friend when he took the photograph. He said: "As soon as I got to my friend's apartment I fell in love with the view but I was also very worried about the suicidal behaviour of his two cats. They would chase each other through the apartment, fighting and playing. But they would also jump on to the balcony and the railing. I was afraid that they could fall, but my friend told me that he tried stopping them from doing it several times, but that they wouldn't."

This one calms it down a little...such a sweet story...
http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01934/elk-marmot_1934144i.jpg
An elk rescues a drowning marmot at Pocatello Zoo, Idaho. Keepers were worried when they noticed Shooter, a four-year-old elk, turning his nose up at his water. They looked on baffled as the moose tried to dip his hooves in his drinking trough - before trying to dunk his entire head in the water. But they were amazed when they saw 12-foot-tall Shooter lift his head out of the water - clutching a tiny marmot - a large ground squirrel - between his jaws. They looked on as Shooter gently nudged the rodent with his hoof, to make sure it was alive - before calmly watching it run off into the bushes.

@High Seas,
I saw that headline but was sleepy and didn't even click on it. So now I looked at it. For some reason the phrase "and slowly flows the Don" came to mind.
