I'm gone for a short time and what do I find? Sailing giraffes and boids wearing toupees. You people are too much.

Love the cat/cow pic. Love the horse pic.

@djjd62,
dj, There are about 100 of these little beauties left in the wild. They all reside on the island of Iriomote/Japan. By all means hurry on over and snatch one of these "national treasures." I'm sure no one would notice or miss it.

Here's another view:

@djjd62,
dj, Saw a segment of a show last night on Animal Planet about bunnies as pets. There were lots of bunnies--all cute. You show us lots of bunnies--all cute. I think I'm noticing a trend here. BTW, there's a woman in England with a 40-pound pet bunny. Big, but cute.

Don't get me wrong. The otters hold their own. Not always as cute as bunnies, but always wonderful to look at.

@Roberta,
i've known a few folks who had rabbits as pets, they can be litter trained and are pretty laid back animals, they do chew however and phone cords, speaker wire and assorted cables are big temptations

@djjd62,
A good friend of sozlet's has a new (adult rescue) bunny, I'm smitten. She's a very smart bunny, and seems to genuinely enjoy human contact. I was sitting and chatting and she kept putting her little feet on my knees and gazing up at me. Sozlet sat down on the floor and the bunny hopped over and snuggled on her lap.

I've seen bunnies that put up with human contact before, but not bunnies that seem to actively seek it.

Who was that masked mammal? Snowball and Nell, residents of Magnolia Plantation and Gardens petting zoo in Charleston, S.C., have no idea that their albinism isn't normal. They think Chance (right) is the weird one.

@Roberta,
the children's show The Teletubbies used a large breed of rabbit (looked quite similar to the one pictured) so they'd look like regular sized rabbits when the costumed characters were on screen (thereby making the costumed characters look more like little what ever they were supposed to be)

The Teletubbies are played by actors dressed in bulky costumes, although the sets are designed to give no sense of scale.

Hello there sleeping human...
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/02/11/article-1355916-0D21D154000005DC-853_964x537.jpg
Resting on a deserted beach, sea captain Jerome Poncet had his sleep disturbed by a huge blubbery local. A four-ton male elephant seal caught him napping near his territory in South Georgia. Tired Jerome, 55, even attracted a flock of King Penguins as he caught forty winks. The dozing Frenchman had piloted his boat Golden Fleece to Britain's most remote colony, near Antarctica, with an expedition team of six wildlife photographers on board. The group had travelled thousands of miles to capture the rutting season of the elephant seal males. Free from his duties, Jerome, who has lived for most of his life in the Falkland Islands, decided to rest on St. Andrew's Bay. But as he snoozed near the water one inquisitive elephant seal hauled itself towards him - ending up just a few feet away. Czech wildlife photographer Vaclav Silha, 47, from Prague, led the expedition and turned to see the show-down. He said: "Jerome is such a deep sleeper he didn't seem to notice the huge male come over to inspect him. The seal must have wondered what this strange creature was."
