Getty Images 8 hours ago Rabbits are offered for sale at Glodok market in Jakarta's Chinatown on February 3, 2011. Asia rang in the Year of the Rabbit with blasts of fireworks, colorful lion dances and prayers that the bunny will live up to its reputation for happiness and good fortune in 2011. Lunar New Year is celebrated in many parts of the predominantly Islamic country of 240 million people where Chinese heritage took roots thru ancient transmigration.

Irish, the bunny with the paper cup poses a question - can you see this as a Durer drawing?

Absolutely. Here's one of Durer's most famous...a watercolor, but the drawing was so realistic looking, people said they expected it to jump off the page.

@Irishk,
Arella Mae, Two German shepherds. Trying not to turn green with envy.

dj, This particular bunny is particularly cute. Not gonna thud. The otter is vocalizing.

Irish, I know that pigs are very smart. Not surprised that this one is doing tricks. Go Babe! The lion pics made me laugh out loud. Hey, kid. You lookin' for trouble? You found it. (BTW: spectacular male lion.) I'm torn between ewwww and hah with that owl/frog pic. I guess that comes to an ewah. The red kites are gorgeous and flying mighty close in a big open sky. I wonder what's going on. Good grief. More bunnies. Two major cuties. I hope they get sold to kind loving homes. The Durer watercolor is amazing, I'm bedazzled. Thanks for them all, kid.

firefly, Glorious bison with a gorgeous background.

So I was hunting around for birds in Central and South America and found the respendant quetzal. Respendant indeed:

I was trying to find a beautiful shellfish. Here's the mantis shrimp from two different angles:

This crustacean is also called the pistol shrimp. It's got such a quick and powerful attack that it could shatter the glass in a fishtank. Could take a person's finger off. Like a gun.

This just in, from a friend:

A red squirrel seems confused and fascinated by a statue of a dog. The picture was captured by a photographer in his garden on the outskirts of Moscow. He said: "The squirrel became fascinated by the dog; it was climbing all over the statue and seemed to be trying to work out what it was. At one point the squirrel looked directly into the statue's face as if it was expecting a reaction."

@Irishk,
The squirrel and dog are priceless. All I have to say about the cat and bunny is, "RUN BUNNY RUN!" Isn't that something? That rabbit does not looked the tiniest bit afraid.

@Arella Mae,
The rabbit's still hung over from celebrating the Lunar New Year! Oh wait...I think we're the only ones who get drunk and make out with strangers on New Year's Laughing

@ossobuco,
I've met a bunch of alpacas several times, be still my heart, but I haven't personally met a llama..

Dude, I'm wearing your lunch: Frank always gets stuck eating next to the guy who talks with his mouth full at Southwest Llama Rescue in Tularosa, N.M. .

Then there is this pelican. I love pelicans so. This one looks like a bellican.

First BP, now this: In Corpus Christi, Texas, Gary Gorton blow-dries a shivering brown pelican that landed on his porch. He warmed the bird for two hours while waiting for state wildlife officials to show up. The bird, however, flew off before they arrived.

This one got to me, it's not about the cat, but the cat a big part of it -

But can he do it without the cat? Alex Amble plays piano upside down as Gus the tabby sits on his stomach and scans the sheet music at their home in Woodbury, Minn. Alex, 14, has muscular dystrophy and is hoping to raise a million dollars for the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation by selling his songs over the Internet.

A buck mule deer relaxes in Greenmount Cemetery in Durango Colorado, with a purple coloured volleyball net wrapped around its antlers. A Colorado Division of Wildlife officer assessed the deer and determined that it would be alright the way it is until the deer sheds its antlers sometime in February.

You pipples is killing me. Squirrel and dog. Thud. B&O. Double thud. Pelican, alpacas, bunny and panther, cat and upside down pianist. Triple thud. Gimme a break.

Firefly, I'm sure that the only reason I didn't thud when I saw your picture was that I didn't see your picture. I got one of those red Xes.

One of my favorite sporting event pictures ever. I watched this race. I cried.

Anyone know why that aquatic squirrel a couple of photos back was poking its tongue out ?
