Noel Marry got the perfect photo of a kingfisher catching a fish, after spending a year setting it up. He built a fish tank in which he placed a minnow, almost completely submerging the tank into a river. He also built a perch above the tank and over the months the kingfisher got used to fishing its lunch out of the tank.

dj, Today's B&O--positively thud-worthy. Too cute. TOO cute. Thanks kid.

Irish, Wow. Magnificent. Spectacular. Breathtaking. I think that wildlife photographers are definitely meshuga--and I'm glad they are. We wouldn't have such wonderful pictures without them.

@Roberta,
Entirely new species of jellyfish discovered in the Gulf of Mexico. Only known cannibalistic jellyfish. Baptized Drymonematida, aka "Pink Meanie":

High Seas, Thanks for the pic and the info. I had heard about a new species being found, but I didn't know it was cannibalistic. Like a lot of jellyfish, this one is beautiful.

dj, What a punim!!! (face). Is that anyone you know personally. Wonderful canine. Thanks, kid.

This is Mary, a four-month-old baby Sugar Glider, who was rescued after falling down a chimney, being cared for at Warrandyte Wildlife Shelter in Melbourne, Australia. She fell down a chimney and landed in a lounge in Warrandyte, 30km east of Melbourne, after straying away from her nest. Mary weighs only 45 grams and sleeps most of the day. She lives on gum leaves and flowers, but likes nothing better than a spoonful of sugar.

I'm gonna have to start taking vitamins. Too much.

So the sugar glider likes sugar. Who knew. That little guy is adorable. Glad he was saved.

Irish, The horse photos take my breath away. So beautiful. (Another meshugina wildlife photographer.)

I positively love baby rhinos. A few years back Jespah and I agreed to adopt one. We'd keep it in her driveway. Didn't happen. Throwing in an ouch for a 120 plus pound baby. Ouch.

dj, Excellent B&O. Dem guys never disappoint.
