@Barry The Mod,
Those sea creatures are just so, so, I don't know a good enough word for them! The cicada looks like he's made of lace and the little birdie is so precious!

@Barry The Mod,
Barry, That is one spectacular picture. Wow. Good night to you too. I'm gonna be up for a while yet. It's only 5:30 a.m.

While we're discussing nocturnal animals (moi), here's another, a tarsier:

A man in Italy was out driving when he saw this flock, so he stopped the car and took this picture:

One of my favorite camouflage experts is the Screech Owl. You may ask why a hunter needs camouflage..... it eats baby birds and is terrorized by the rest of his feathered kin for it.

@littlek,
Amazing, littlek. Throwing in a wow!

I'm not asking why a hunter needs camouflage. Many of them have camouflage. Tigers, polar bears, even lions (they're the color of the tall grass on the savannah). I could go on but I'll spare you.

Still gasping at that amazing shot. Thanks mucho.

@Roberta,
But tigers' camouflage is to not be seen while approaching prey, right? This guy's camouflage is to protect it from angry birds.

This pair of goats wandered onto this railroad bridge in Roundup, Montana. They were stuck there for more than a day before being rescued with a crane...a little hungry, but otherwise ok.

@Irishk,
Makes me noivous just looking at it. Glad they were rescued.

On the other hand, I think these guys are where they want to be:

So are screech owls' passive aggressive predators?

They're still beautiful despite this built in personality flaw.

@Irishk,
Irish, your photo reminded me of one I took on the Chiantigiana road on a drear day in March.

@ossobuco,
Very cool, Osso! I need to start taking my camera with me in the car. I got a new one for Christmas and it's still in the box!

@ossobuco,
Nice to see sheep coming and going. And the black one seems to get center stage.

I get dizzy just looking at this picture but those mountain goats don't seem phased a bit. I love the black sheep amongst the white ones. Too cute.
