@Roberta,
Holy cow! Was it a motion-sensitive camera? Must have been. What incredible quality.

Don't know how it was done. I do remember the copy mentioned the wolf being interested in something on the other side of the fence. You can see that interest in his eyes.

This one is definitely a wow.

Here's a link to the site. Other great pics.

@Roberta,
Not to be a debbie-downer, but.... I went on line to find out more about how this shot was made. I couldn't begin to guess. It turns out that this shot is of a zoo animal taken inside it's enclosure - not a wild animal as the contest calls for. Not that it matters much. It does help explain how he got this shot.

@littlek,
It's still a beautiful picture of a beautiful animal so I don't think you are being a debbie-downer at all.

Lucky thing for the wolf because if that was a wild wolf jumping over a fence at night and a flash went off right next to it, it probably would of had a heart attack before it hit the ground. Smile

@littlek,
I went back and found the same info. Was gonna post it later. Still a great pic, but the nonwild wolf does explain a lot.

What a woild. Cheating in a photo contest.

New footage shows tigers can thrive in the Himalayas -

At current rates tigers will become extinct in around 15 years.

@msolga,
I agree, olga. Even though the photo isn't what it's purported to be (a wild animal), it's still a helluva shot.

I'm very glad that you like this thread, T2L. It means a lot to me--the thread and that you like it. I find it a haven.

Arella Mae, I picked a tame one. Didn't want to get you all worked up. Here's a doozier one:

And they've got color coming and going:

@Roberta,
LOL! Oh my that is quite a colorful derrier! They almost look like they have painted on faces. Very interesting.

Oh I do envy that eagle's ability to fly and float through the air like that. What grace. What beauty. What regalness.

@Arella Mae,
Only the males have colorful tushes. And the color brightens up when the males get worked up.

I just read that the tushes may also be useful in keeping the group together as it makes its way through tall grass. Easy to spot a blue butt in the green grass.

When I first saw the video, I gasped. Why? Because the eagle didn't flap. It just spread its wings and took off. I wanted desperately for that bird to understand what it was doing. I wanted it to have a human consciousness. To know and understand that it was floating on air.
