I think the best thing about this thread is being introduced to all the different creatures out there that I had no idea even existed!

Miss Roberta, that hartebeast reminds me of a moose in some regards.

@tsarstepan,
tsar, I'm plotzing, feeling light-headed, and having a heart palpitation from this picture. If I drop dead from an overdose of gorgeosity and cuteness, it's on your head.

In other words, omigod. I'm left speechless (if you don't count what I said above). A rare occurence, indeed.

Thanks, bubby. This one's a doozy.

Crystal sea slug. BTW, Arella Mae, if you want to be dazzled, google sea slug nudibranch and look at the images. You won't believe your eyes.

Well, I sure didn't mean to do that! When I first saw the picture I thought it was a moose without antlers. LOL

@Arella Mae,
I don't think I ever known that fact until I saw the photograph. I'm more fixated on their steel grey/blue eyes.

@tsarstepan,
They are so beautiful. The black panther has always been my favorite of the cat family. It's so hard to imagine something so beautiful can be so very deadly.

Miss Roberta, I looked up the nudibranch! WOW! I love this one.

@Arella Mae,
I don't know if the majority of this video was kosher or not but the end when he was incapacitated by that itch? I believe that was real! Poor thing!

Your previous post looks more like a colorful ribbon than an actual animal. Is it a fish or some kind of slug?

@tsarstepan,
It is one of those nudibranch things Miss Roberta told me to look up. Here's a link to more:

I'm not sure about the bear video either but I sure did like it.

Arella Mae, I have great doubts about that bear video. It looked to me like the camera was adjusted for speed, and it kept going back over what had been done. On the other hand, I agree with tsar. The itch was real.

Glad you like the nudibranchs. Tsar, they're simply slugs--snails without shells. Most are quite small. They have dazzling colors and amazing, other worldly shapes. Love the goat pic. What are the chances of that happening.

I believe that nudibranches are flat worms - one of the earliest life forms. We share a common ancestor, I believe.

@littlek,
I just did a bit of googling, k. Nudibranchs are unshelled mollusks. However, sea slugs ain't the same as nudibranchs (news to me). They might be the flatworms you refer to.

So while I'm reading about nudibranchs, I see mention of a sea angel. I'm curious. Here's one:
