Lucifer, a male Asiatic lion, holds a football painted in the colors of the English soccer team in his mouth at London's Zoo in Regents Park on Thursday. The zoo gave the media a opportunity to film the lions playing with a ball filled with meat and painted in the colors of England, who are due to compete in the the World Cup in South Africa.
Whale sharks are indeed beauts! I wonder what kind of picture would come out if someone connected the dots?

Didn't say nuttin' about your getting et or even bit. I actually know that whale sharks eat plankton. However, they are enormous and probably wouldn't take kindly to have their spots connected. One swipe of the tail could do you in.
Lucifer looks content. Asiatic lions are mighty rare.
It's ashame one can't keep one for a pet (at least not in NYC).

A roseate spoonbill passes below a tern over an island in the Barataria Bay on the Gulf coast of Louisiana. The island is home to thousands of brown pelicans, egrets and roseate spoonbills, many of which are now affected by oil after the Deepwater spill. Officials now say that it may be impossible to clean the hundreds of miles of coastal wetlands and islands
