@Letty,
Letty, I guess this cobra didn't hear you. Hey no cobra can hear you. No snake can hear you. They're deaf. No ears. They sense vibrations.

Red panda are not quite so imposing, but they are very very cute, hanging out in trees.

Grebe (from gorse to grebe; the human mind is a terrible thing to waste).

@tsarstepan,
tsar, You're confusing me. Letty posted a pic of a red panda. I posted two pics of mongooses, but you really can't see the eyes in either. Glad you like the grebe.

osso, Yup, the red panda is a doozy.

@Roberta,
I can see them red panda eyes, Roberta. As for the cobra and the mongoose, I was using a little anthropomorphism.

Perhaps we should make the eyes a little larger for Tsar and you.

Pangolin.

I wrote a paper that this was becuase their ears were on their legs and when their legs fell of they became deaf.

Actually when you say they sense vibrations, that is exactly what hearing is.....

@Ionus,
Many animals can sense vibrations. It's not necessarily hearing, which is associated with sound.

Sound is a vibration. That was my point. A certain frequency of vibration can be picked up by the organ we call the ear...other frequecies of vibration can be felt.
