Excellent porcupine, Caribou. And dem hedgohog babies is to die for.

dj. I think there may have been a skunk a ways back. I like the one you posted. Nice big bushy tail. I also like the skink. Aren't they the lizards that drop their tails and run? The tail keeps wiggling, and the hunter thinks it's caught something alive. Then the skink grows a new tail. Ain't nature amazing? The Maine coon is gorgeous. One of the bigger breeds of domestic cat.

Our closest relatives--a chimp:

And a more distant relation--a snake. The golden eyelash viper. Why does a snake have eyelashes? Snakes don't have eyelids. BTW, the lashes are made of scales, not hair.

djjd62- Maine Coons are gorgeous. Years ago, a neighbor of mine had two, one weighing 20 lbs. the other 24. He would walk the two of them on leashes, like dogs.

Hiya Phoenix, My late lamented cat Mikey was 24 pounds. Not a Maine coon. Just a big guy. No leash though. He bucked like a bronco. But my late lamented Miranda was happy to walk on a leash. Cats is weird.

C.I., Thanks for the wonderful photos from the Galapagos. Love dem blue-footed boobies. Also thanks for the pic from Peru.

Bella, Love that dog. At first glance, I thought it was a Char pei. But now I don't think so. What is it?

Here's another animal with an amazing looking head. The hammerhead shark:

I think you're right, Caribou. I think that's what it is.
