@rosborne979,
Yep, will do Ros. Will give that window a clean tonite and see what happens in the morning (he starts early!). The window on the ground floor directly below is filthy - UGH!!!!!!!!!!

@Izzie,
One year I had a large Grouse crash into a plate glass window, sounded like a truck hitting the house Smile He hit it so hard that it left bits of down and small feathers stuck to the window which fluttered around in the breeze. For days, other small birds could come over to the window and hover around in front of it and try to pluck the down from the window.

During the springtime birds get really interested in nest building material. I've even seen Chickadee's attacking squirrels to pluck the long hairs from their tails. The squirrels were quite annoyed, but couldn't do anything about it (because they were too busy trying to steal my bird food).

@rosborne979,
lady Diane collects lint from the clothes dryer and puts it around the trees for humming birds to use as nest material, they seem to like it.

@rosborne979,
Ha..... oh ... I can imagine that... I've got a really naughty squirrel here who is stealing everything right now. I put 2 stale eccles cakes on the feeder and the squirrel came straight by and nabbed them without so much as a by-your-leave. He's gonna be one very podgy squirrel!!!!!!!! (posted a video back a couple pages of the squirrel!)

All these animals are such great time-wasters. Love watching them.

Gosh... if I ever end up going on a safari or something - I would be in seventh heaven.... or some such place - get so excited about these little critters - who knows what I'd do if I saw a rhino, giraffe or bird of paradise! Razz

ahhhhhhhhhhh Dys.... humming birds....... ooooooh to be back in Arkansas and CA!

@Izzie,

so... is opening the window and letting in the persistent little mistle thrush an option?

@Region Philbis,
oh, I'd love to let him in... I reckon he might fly straight in and share a worm or two with me if I found a tasty morsel - but it's a little room and I'd hate for him to flap about and end up getting hurt - or one of the kitties to be playing hide and seek and then suddenly find an "in flight menu" available.

The window is now spotless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So looking forward to him knocking tomorrow (provided the smell of the window cleaner doesn't scare him off!) Very Happy

Hey, hasn't it occurred to anybody that this little guy has aspirations? Maybe he likes Izzie. Species. Shmecies. He's seen her. He wants her. Kinda heartbreaking, huh?

@Roberta,
I try to not put in many zoo photos (or animal feature places) as I have a love/hate relationship with zoos and such - but this photo charmed me:

Catch and release only, I promise ... Akaasha the Bengal meets Mavrick and another, unidentified dolphin (Goose?) during the tiger cub's daily staff-escorted walk around Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo.

@ossobuco,
Charmed me too, osso. That's a scene that will never happen in nature.

@Roberta,
Can I have one? Funny round pupils for a cat, though.

Sure you can have one, Roger. Hop on over to Asia and catch one.

Funny you should mention the pupils. Here's what Wikipedia has to say:
*****
This cat has several features which distinguish it from other felines. Most strikingly, it has round pupils. Its legs are short, its rump is rather bulky, and its fur long and thick. The combination of its stocky posture and thick fur makes it appear especially stout and plushy. Its coat changes with the seasons: the winter coat is greyer and less patterned than the summer coat. The ears are set low and give the cat a somewhat owl-like appearance. Because of its relatively flat face, it was once thought that Pallas' Cat was the ancestor of the Persian cat breed.

You don't miss much, do ya?
