This thread is laden with exceptional animal photos, but every once in a while a photo will surface that simply takes the viewer's breath away. I believe this elephant shrew is one such submission....

I have dreamt of being a wattled cassowary, but to even entertain the thought of becoming a double- wattled cassowary would be too high of a mountain to climb....

Gus, Something to aspire to? Here's a double-wattled cassowary. I believe both wattles are visible. Eat your heart out, kid.

Osso, There's a photo of me in a carton somewhere showing me being chased around Frogner Park in Norway by a very beautiful swan. Dese boids is gawgeous--and not even-tempered.

For the past few years on Super Bowl Sunday, the Animal Planet has its Puppy Bowl. Three hours puppies playing in a small arena set up to look like a football field. At halftime, the puppies are cleared out, and kittens are brought in.

This is bordering on illegally cute.

To kick off the Puppy Bowl, I thought I'd post some cuteness here.

If I were a gracious person, I would say, "Your wish is my command." But I'm not. I was planning on PCs all along. And here they are:
