Good choice Roberta. Mention of German Shepherds brings back very fond memories. These were all members of my family. Of this group the only one still with us is the poodle. All the rest are now at Rainbow Bridge.
Mesquite, love, love love the pics of the doggies. God granted us a great gift when he made us appealing to dogs. We lost our two dogs to old age over the last 18 months or so, the last died in July 2007. But we will be picking up a new puppy January 9th, and are anxious to get back to the familiar feel of dogs in the house.
mesquite,
the doberman (mix?) looks a lot like our family dog when i was a kid.
i'll see if i have a pic of him here...
Region, she was a doberman-lab mix, a really great dog. Our current big guy is a shepherd-collie mix.
mesquite, I love each and every one of those faces. All seven of them. Love the new big guy too. Seeing them warmed the cockles of my heart. I didn't know my heart had cockles until I saw those pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Good morning, dadpad. Que pasa, kid?
When I was a little Roberta, I devised a fairly elaborate plan to have one of these in the backyard of our tenement in the Bronx. For some unfathomable reason, my parents said no. Never did get to discuss it with the landlord.
I abandoned plans for the elephant and used similar plans (on a smaller scale) for one of these. Another no. Parents can sometimes be mean and unreasonable people.
Gorgeous pictures of both, Roberta, near make me cry.
Mesquite's dogs, I love'em. Well, I love the dogs and I love the portrait, as it is a portrait, terrific photo. Saved that dog group to favorites, and my favorites I've kept fairly spare.
Some day, not far away, as I have plans to move stuff around and make some scanner-printer-this-and-that connections; taking the present computer et al off the dining room table, so called, I will put onto some online site a series of photos of our then at peak gloriousness irish setter.
Don't hold your breath, but consider it warning.
Thanks ossobuco. This is one of my favorite shepherd pictures. I wish I could find a higher resolution version.
Bullock's Oriole
osso, No blubbering allowed. Well, maybe a little. I consider myself warned about the Irish setters. Not gonna hold my breath. But I can look forward with eager anticipation.
mesquite, Vunderbar. I'm worried about the two or three dogs that are not looking at the cat. And I'm concerned about the cat's mental health. That's the best path he (or she) could find to get from point A to point B? Also, thanks for the boid.
Francis, Merci. Love dat little frog.
