These are wonderful, jes. Thanks for posting them.

BTW, that baby rhino sparked a memory. How's your driveway looking these days?

Snowy. Poor baby rhino would catch a cold, and I'd never forgive myself. And the garage isn't heated. Hmmm. Maybe the lil fellow needs his (her?) own bedroom? After all, Jessica the hippo enjoys a nap indoors:

Saw a program about Jessica the hippo. Hippos are smarter than rhinos. Jessica figured out how to open the front door. The people she lives with seem to have a bit more room than you probably have (just guessing).

Another great plan shot to hell.

Sigh.

Thanks for the great link, littlek. Gonna have to look in chunks. Here's a photo I picked up from the link. Couldn't resist.

Rosborne, Glad you like it. Two of the biggest surprises for me as I've wended my way through this thread have been moths--

And sea slugs (nudibranchs)--

mesquite, That guy Ryan is gifted and provides a gift for the senses. You can see individual feathers and get a sense of what the birds would feel like. Wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

BTW, I went to google to see if I could find a male phenopepola. Just curious. The only thing on google relating to this bird is Tom Ryan's photo. Do you know if the species name is spelled right?

Yeppers, looks like a spelling problem. Tom had this to say about the sexes,"I spotted this one just before the Mockingbird. The female looks nothing like the sleek black male. The only thing they have in common is the "red" eye and striking head plumage."

Here is a male, but the quality is not nearly as good as Tom's
