Homeland Security has completed an analysis of emergengy preparedness of a sample of cities around the nation and Mandan, N.D. came in pretty much on the bottom. Mandan ND, population (year 2000): 16,718. Probably will get a supplemental appropriation of 2 Billion $. (Just a guess)
At first I was going to lagh, then I thought about it and it just isn't funny.
Mandan ND= Zip code: 58554
Median resident age: 35.8 years
Median household income: $38,182 (year 2000)
Median house value: $82,000 (year 2000)
* White Non-Hispanic (94.5%)
* American Indian (3.9%)
* Two or more races (1.3%)
* Hispanic (0.8%)
So, I'm actually interested. Have some pals in Nodak. Could you give more of a clue to an article?
$82,000 for an average HOUSE??? Damn, that's CHEAP! I think the low housing prices more than justify the lack of emergency preparedness.
Maybe the houses are so cheap, they figure the enemy could never financially justify bombing them.
