Yep, I'm still a swimmer. But the removal of toe nails resulted in me cutting them wrong and wearing ill-fitted high heels for too many years.

I love my olive green Levi overalls.....suppose I could do with another pair. Are you pickin me up or am I coming to get you? Should we meet half way?

Can we stop by Cinnabon for some awesome coffee?

My new Civic has a/c, and I'm in the mood for a road trip - so I'll come get you. I just have to decide which hat to wear.

hmmmmmm, since you're kind of new to girly-girl hats, you might want to start easy - either a bucket hat or a crusher like this one

and then we work you up to

Of course you want a cigarette. I know I will in a week's time. Just have to make sure that somehow wanting one doesn't become doing one. Easier said that done, I know. I have gone through it before.

Rae,
Mine too. I am a true addictive personality and have been smoking for a long, long time. Not looking forward to Sept. 1.

you are constantly being reminded that it is "all in your head"!

sumac, Most people become addicted to smoking, so you're not alone. It took me three times to go cold turkey, and finally kicked the habit. That was almost forty years ago. Wink

Demons in my head.....I appreciate, more than anyone will ever know, the good thoughts. The task set before me though is to choose between one demon and another.

You have sucessfully narrated the thoughts that run through my head constantly.

I think I need to give sumac a hug. No, I know I need to give sumac a hug. I need one, too.

c.i. ~ I'm glad you gave up the habit so that the rest of us can enjoy your company today. Your footsteps are hard to follow. Laughing

that was magnificent!
how did it go unremarked?
Is it from somewhere/one of which/whom i am unaware?
or was that, as it seemed, a little piece of you typed into the ether,
and, hence, residing here?

Thank you for the kind enouragement, sumac, Lola and ossobuco too.
The words were 15 minutes stream of consciousness,
recent memories just drifting, in my head.
I usually write this stuff in my journal, but why not here?

I didn't read the words myself until after hitting "submit"
but it seems like a poem somehow. Funny. Words are strange.
Strange syllables. Strange symbols.

PS -- I just looked up the definition: "su·per·flu·id -- n.
A fluid, such as a liquid form of helium, exhibiting a frictionless flow at temperatures close to absolute zero."

I can't get stuck. People come and go all the time.
Vivid and beautiful memories, but I can't get stuck no matter
how warm they are, or it'll tear me apart when they go.
Flow gracefully and keep swimming.
Maybe next year it'll be different.
