Wilso,
you should heed her advice.

there is no need to get personal. Nor throw insults.

Name calling is a little immature. I though atheists were tolerant caring folk.

Im not hiding, I am just amused at you're views.

you are making innuendos about someone you know nothing about!!

Pathetic insults, are you going to slander my mother next!!!!!!

Don't worry, it's just his spiritual frustration shining through. Aetheists are usually unhappy, arrogant and pretty much miserable.

Is there a point you are trying to make?

Apparently, both religious "clubs" have "issues" relative to how women should be percieved and treated.

from your postings, neither of the "religious clubs" have it correct, in my opinion.

So again, what conclusion or point are you trying to make?

(sort of breaking my debate rule, but I do want to know)

So why don't men wear a veil and/or burka? Aren't men as tempting to a woman as a woman is to a man? Why do only women get covered as if they are wearing a shroud?

the nature of the man is more lustful then women im sure you will agree.

Men must also cover themselves from above the navel to below the knees.

there is no reason given to us so this is pure speculation aat this point, but men are also commanded to provide for the family and so they must work.
Often they must do so in harsh conditons so it may not be suitable for them to be completley uncovered.

Islam also forbids free mixing so most of these situations that you speak of are cut out anyways. Only in a few situations would there be opportunities for women mixingwith men for example in the market place.

And Allah (swt) knows best

Exactly. And they have done studies where men's pupils enlarge when they see naked women but this was not the case with women. Allah does know best.

Those reasons reflect many female converts' thinking, say experts who have studied the phenomenon. "A lot of women are reacting to the moral uncertainties of Western society," says Dr. Jawad. "They like the sense of belonging and caring and sharing that Islam offers."

Others are attracted by "a certain idea of womanhood and manhood that Islam offers," suggests Karin van Nieuwkerk, who has studied Dutch women converts. "There is more space for family and motherhood in Islam, and women are not sex objects."

Prove it.

Well the only time you will know for sure is when you finally expire and the Angels question you in your grave. Only then will you see that we were speaking the truth, but it will be too late for you to repent nonetheless.

Raul-7, I like to believe if there is a God, that he is like the best of parents and loves all his children equally no matter what they think. I like to believe I will be judged by what good I do to his other children (my brothers and sisters on earth) and so I will not condemn them to hell, even in my mind. If the religious fanatics are whom God loves and saves for heavan then I would prefer condemnation and an eternity in hell with my friends.

If men are the problem than they should wear blinders like a horse. Actually, women check out men as much as men check out women - we are just more discreet. Also women have better peripheral vision than men so isn't noticed so much when we peek - and that is a scientific fact.

Its the right of the creation (us) to be good to others

You dont know that women check out men more. Maybe in this wacky society we live in but he who knows.

All we know is that this is what God has decreed and thats all that counts.

BTW - Blinkers probably wouldnt stop em.

There are two comparisons happening here. One is the comparison of the old testament bible with the quran. The other is the comparison of modern christianity with modern islam. It is true that the quran affords more rights for women than the old testament bible (though still not equal -- inheritance is split 1/3 - 2/3 female to male heirs), but that doesn't seem to have carried over into the actual practice of either religion, IMO.

Wouldn't you say you wash yourself of urine?

The word protect implies you have some sort of shield or barrier between your body and the urine. It also implies urine is something you need to be protected from, like it's a danger.

So, every time you urinate, you wash yourself with water? I doubt that.
