Men and sheep? Thought we were talking about openly gay men and women in the military?

and animals they f*cked animals right? Laughing

Guess "we" weren't.

Well, it won't be but a week or two,
You'll be out lovin' someone new.
It must have happened a hundred times before.
And I can see you been spreadin' yourself thin too.
It's a lonely stage we been goin' through.
Don't get up, I can find my own way to the door.

Chorus:
Well, I can see you are an angel,
whose wings just won't unfold.
Tune up your harp; polish your old halo.
Well the only kind of girl that you ever wanted
is one that you knew you'd never hold very long.
You're sittin' there cryin' like I'm the first one to go.

Well, you may have had thirty lovers behind you.
Baby, I can feel you, but I sure can't find you.
Seems like you would have found your own self by now.
But late at night your old lovers' tears come back,
faces in your dreams, fingers in your back,
voices of the memories, cryin' out loud.

Chorus:
Well, I can see you are an angel,
whose wings just won't unfold.
Tune up your harp; polish your old halo.
Well the only kind of girl that you ever wanted
is one that you knew you'd never hold very long.
You're sittin' there cryin' like I'm the first one to go.

(Up a step)

Ah, what a joyous sight to see you in your sleep.
I believe I'm leavin'; I'm in too deep,
and that seems easy enough for a woman to say.
But we would never agree if we talked all night.
Things are gettin' kind of heavy. I'm travelin' light.
Goodbye you jaded lover, you undercover queen for a day.

Chorus:
Well, I can see you are an angel,
Whose wings just won't unfold.
Tune up your harp; polish your old halo.
Well the only kind of girl that you ever wanted
is one that you knew you'd never hold very long.
You're sittin' there cryin' like I'm the first one to go.

Roxy, I'm surprised you don't know the term "Miss Thing", it's a NYC underground term often used to describe a hot transsexual/transvestite. It's definitely not an insult and has probably been around since the last 80's.

I don't know about the numbers in this poll, many heterosexual men are uncomfortable around homosexual men. Perhaps the soldiers in Iraq want to get the heck out of there so badly that they're willing to accept even gay replacement forces.

Like a lot of underground stuff that's seen the light of day at all, "Miss Thing" has evolved to just be a mildly sassy "oh is that so?" sort of phrase, with a gay-man-addressing-another-gay-man connotation but can be used by anyone to address anyone. (Common here in the Midwest, too.)

I'm happy about the poll, hope it's true, and could believe it.

Most guys in the military I know aren't uncomfortable around gays, they just don't want to be hit on. As I have said in another thread, I didn't serve with any gay men that I know of but I did serve with several gay women. They weren't open about it in general but did admit it to friends of which I was one of them.

I don't see an issue with gays in the military in general, but I do think they should open it up to certain MOS's and not all of them. In time and when soldiers get used to it all MOS's should be made available.

No way they could open up just "certain" MOSs. It has to be all or none. No way to make that fly legally.

Why not. Women are not allowed to be Infantry or hold rolls that are direct combat related.

I wonder if you asked (if you could) any of our miltary who's life had been ended before their time if they would have minded serving with or being replaced by a homosexual if it had saved their lives.

For that matter I wonder if any dead soldiers would have lain with a homosexual if it would have saved their lives.

I suspect that once you're alreadybeen blown to bits or otherwise had your life snatched from you your perspective on what's important and what isn't is probably different.

I don't think that really has a bearing here. Of course you can't ask a dead soldier that and even if you could they would say they don't care. There a saying I'm sure you've heard "better you then me". I know that would be my answer!
