There's a different Lear for every reader and a different Christ for every believer (or non-believer).

To some, agape conjures up selfless charity. To others it evokes cosmic hierarchy, fealty to leaders, and visceral distaste for animal sexuality.

If by Old Testament fundamentalist you mean something like what I think of seeing the phrase, then I'd rather their mothers had eaten them while their bones were still soft.

It's all oversimplified unto absurdity. It's about jockeying for position in the absence of work or lounging on the couches with two audiences; the other and the self.

The thread title keeps making me think of Brokeback Mountain.

I'm picturing conservative voters across the nation thinking "Republicans... I wish I knew how to quit you."
