Yesterday, I resigned from my current job. The whole organisation has gone into a spin as this has come totally out of the blue for them - and specially since the bonus's were about to be paid in two months time.
I did this because I have been poached by another large bank for a bigger position. The salary hike was good, they offered a huge signup bonus to make up for my loss of earnings since I won't be able to get my 2006 bonus, and have a much better pension scheme than my current organisation. (can you see that I am getting old, now that I have started to think abt pension schemes)
Today is going to be tough. As the news spreads, my phone will be ringing off the hook, there will he HR meetings, senior management meetings, counter offers.....
But I have made up my mind.
So very soon I will be bigger (professionally), and richer.
