Politicians are actors. They have to be. (I'm not talking about the obvious, like Reagan, Sonny Bono, Fred Thompson). But they go on different stages, before different audiences, deliver lines. If you were handing out Oscars for best director, best supporting actor, etc, who would be your choices? What would you pick as a movie?
Karl Rove for best director, for sure. The man's running the country, but he rarely gets in front of the camera...
Dr Strangelove for the movie. And the recently departed Ari Fleischer for best supporting actor.
Bush 41 for best Producer
Cheney on behalf of Halliburton for best Executive Producers
Hey, Mama, just a suggestion: how about a poll? We could vote on the many categories; perhaps changing the possibilities every other day or something like that ... just a thought ...
If they do give Oscars for politicians, I guess they will have to discontinue the 'Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award'.
Bill Clinton deserves an oscar statuette (but just the head) for his affair with Monica.
GW can have the rest of the statuette, for his 'decapitating' strikes on Iraq. Or, because he's the first President in recent memory that hasn't made use of his head...
Any female suggestions? I realize women don't play much of a role here; I can't even think of best supporting actress.
Mama, ask and ye shall receive:
Laura Bush - Best Supporting Actress
Condaleeza Rice - Best Actress
Karl Rove --Choreographer
sweets - no way. Laura Bush maybe for background music. Rice? That's a poser.
waaaaaaa, Mama rejected my nominees,
ok, Mama, you da woman, I'll google politicians and try again
Mama, I googled and I can't decide; but, since the Administration is so misogynistic and your topic is "politicians" in general, how about: Michigan Chief Justice Maura Corrigan for Best Actress? Justice Corrigan said one of the best things about being a woman in politics is "you can pretend to be your secretary when people call after 5 p.m."
