Well, Walter was too shy to cramp himself between the Irish, the English,
Dutch, Nepalese and whatever nation thread. So, I helped him out,
and open the official German thread.

I have a photo of the 1934 German wrestling team around here somewhere.
Ahh, here it is....
I remember the time Calamity Jane was over for a beer and I showed her the photo. She examined it carefully and then a smile crossed her face and she said, "Achtung, Gustav. I vould very much like to be tossed into ze ring with ze big German wrestlers. Dat vould be nice."

I've met Walter, and neither he nor I or some other folks fit slots of preconceived notions.

Yes, thank you, Green Witch, I just wanted to tell gustav that he

Yeah, nobody messed with me - ever! Okay, I have to shave twice a day, but everything has its price, doesn't it.

I thought the two gentlemen at the table were pulling on a Christmas cracker to get the paper hat and joke.

I'd just like to add that my great-great-Opa came over from Germany.
I don't know what part of Germany he was from though. I'll have to check that out.
That's all.

Hmmm, so far "Walter's German thread" sans Walter. Maybe he needs an invitation?

I see I sounded gruff on my post back there. Didn't mean it that way, meant it more in a pro Walter/CJane way.
Walter's in London by now, I think. Hope he's having a fine time.

While in Germany and Austria recently, we enjoyed many sausage meals with beer. The ones in Nuremberg with sauerkraut on bread with mustard was just devine!
